The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and the companies they run– worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.

More than 1,500 nominations were considered from organizations and individuals worldwide in multiple categories. Maria Taylor won in the Female Entrepreneur of the Year category for Business Services with 10 or less employees.

Maria's entry showcases how her strong entrepreneurial spirit drives Limina’s rapid growth, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since founding Limina 16 years ago with co-founder and Principal Jon Fukuda, the firm has grown from 2 to 9 employees and to more than $2 million in revenue as of December 31, 2019. Key achievements from July 1, 2019 to July 31, 2020 include:

-Revenue and headcount growth. Limina grew its revenue 15%, retained all 8 of its employees, and hired 1 new employee.

-Strong client retention. Limina had a 75% growth rate in client’s year over year, and gained 5 new projects with existing clients, including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Association of American Medical Colleges and Docketly.

-UX industry thought leadership. Limina invested in a strategic research study and published “The 2020 Design-Integration Report.” It has been extremely well received — garnering media coverage, analyst attention, invitations to speak at industry conferences, and igniting conversations with current and prospective clients.

-Corporate awards. Limina won the Inc. 5000 award, the BizWest Mercury 100, and three awards from the Denver Business Journal: Small Business Awards, Fast 50, and Minority-owned Business.
