WOODLAND PARK, COLORADO, UNITED STATES, October 14, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Park State Bank & Trust (PSBT) recently announced that Craig Spivey has taken on the position of Mortgage Loan Officer. Spivey joined PSBT as a personal banker in 2015 with the primary role of working with new personal or business accounts, opening IRAs & CDs and the like.

About one and a half years ago, Spivey was promoted to Operations Officer and worked behind the scenes with all aspects of banking from administering debit and credit cards, to servicing ATM machines, to managing and training the personal banking team. Basically, he made sure that all the bank departments worked together in the best way to ensure that the bank operations were running as smoothly as possible.

As of early September, Spivey has taken on a new position as the Mortgage Loan Officer, replacing a former PSBT team member who has left to devote more time to family. Spivey’s love of banking stems from his passion for helping people and in this latest position he will be meeting first-time home buyers, as well as working with customers who are moving to a seasonal home or those who are downsizing to a smaller home to retire and/or after their children have moved out.

“I’m looking forward to being able to continue to make a difference in our customer’s lives, as well as working with realtors who recommend that their clients come to us,” said Spivey. “I didn't seek out the banking career - it found me. Prior to joining the banking industry, I worked in advertising for 20+ years, mainly as a media buyer for national cable stations,” Spivey explained. “But after a while, I tired of the continual ebb and flow and uncertainty that came with the high-pressure sales environment.”

“A chance encounter brought by our mutual love of ice hockey led me to meet PSBT President Tony Perry. Over the years different opportunities would present themselves that led to Mr Perry and I working on various projects together and eventually that turned to the banking industry,” said Spivey “In banking, I found a niche where I can make people's day – especially in the community bank environment. I can sit down and give the customer my personal time and assist with everyday life issues. I'm so thankful that I got exposed to this field,” Spivey concluded.

Spivey moved to Colorado from his home state of Louisiana in 1993 to follow another favorite past time – anything to do with being in the outdoors and the Colorado mountains. He is an avid cyclist, runner and hiker. He has climbed and summited every 14’ner in the state and Pikes Peak, America’s Mountain, countless times. “I love to be outdoors no matter what the weather and I love that we have Pikes Peak here as the ultimate playground,” said Spivey.

When asked what makes Park State Bank & Trust different from other financial institutions that are available in our community, Spivey said “This is my favorite part! We have great people in this community - so we get to work with great people at the bank. All the important decisions that are made happen inside this bank. I don't have to call a regional manager or a rep that is over a three-state region. We can make the best decision for the customer right here,” explained Spivey. “We are a one branch community bank here in Teller County. We can handle unique situations and we are always thinking of our customers and the community first.”
