​The Interstate 90 rest stop for eastbound traffic near the Ohio state border is reopened following the completion of upgrades to the area.

The rest stop had been closed since May so upgrades could be made as part of a project to reconstruct I-90 from the Ohio border to mile marker 3.5. Work at the rest stop included electrical, highway lighting, drainage and curb ramps updates as well as concrete pavement removal, and asphalt paving. 

Information on the overall project is available online at www.Penndot.gov/District1 by clicking on the Construction Projects/Roadway link under the Resources heading, picking the Erie County box then choosing the Interstate 90 Reconstruction tile.  

PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
