Dare County Citizens:

With the court systems reopening on June 1, we look forward to being able to continue serving you. However, we have implemented the following guidelines to ensure that everyone has as safe of a visit to the Dare County Courthouse as possible.

1. IF YOU ARE FEELING SICK OR SHOWING ANY SIGNS OR SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19, CALL 252-475-5200 FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS. 
2. Wear PPE, masks, or other face coverings at all times while you are in the Dare County Justice Center and surrounding parking lots.  Your mouth and nose should be covered. You are expected to provide your own masks/face coverings.
3. Maintain social distancing by keeping six feet apart from others (while in line, in the courtrooms, and in offices in the courthouse).
4. Wash and/or sanitize your hands often. Sanitizer will be provided at all locations where courtroom participants may gain access.
5. Do not enter courtrooms unless you are involved with a court case. If you must enter a courtroom, sit in the designated areas unless otherwise instructed while still maintaining social distancing.
6. Be prepared to have your temperature taken upon entry into the Dare County Justice Center.
7. And remember—while the court system is reopening, the Clerk of Court’s office accepts filings by mail. We recommend you utilize this—especially if you have been feeling sick or experiencing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
