SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
The Vermont State Police is investigating a shooting that occurred Friday morning, May 29, 2020, in Starksboro that left a man with non-life-threatening injuries.
On 5-29-20 at 0651, troopers assigned to the New Haven barracks, along with detectives assigned to the Criminal Division, responded to a suspicious complaint that had originated in the town of Starksboro. Investigation revealed that a firearm was discharged inside the residence, injuring a 30-year-old man. The victim was subsequently transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, where he was treated for an injury to his lower extremities. The injury was not life-threatening. The victim's name is being withheld at this time pending the ongoing police investigation.
There is no danger to the public, and this investigation remains active.
