Infrastructure supporting a series of technical solutions directed at preventing the spread of COVID-19 is to be expanded at Gazprom Neft’s Moscow Refinery. A range of devices directed at protecting employees under a pandemic will remain in operation at the plant following the lifting of lockdown restrictions, and will be used to enhance the refinery’s existing safety system. These innovations had been introduced as part of the company’s “Antivirus” programme, which involved putting in place various protective measures to combat the spread of the virus, and to protect employees at continuous-production facilities, oilfield services, and supporting and service organisations, throughout all locations at which the company operates.
The Gazprom Neft Moscow Refinery remains in continuous operation, and continues to produce the fuel essential to the capital’s needs. The company is taking every safety initiative necessary in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Entry points are equipped with high-tech automatic temperature-monitoring units, and remote thermal imaging is delivering accurate body-temperature measurements. The complex is due to be integrated into the plant’s electronic access-control system. Antibacterial air-purifiers and hand-sanitiser dispensers have been installed throughout production premises. The Moscow Refinery’s own existing medical facilities have been further equipped with stationary blood oxygen-saturation monitors (oximeters), allowing closer monitoring of employees’ health. All of which is further enhancing plant infrastructure.
In addition to these initiatives, the Moscow Refinery is meeting all requirements decreed by the Mayor of Moscow, and all requirements from regulatory agencies. Measures are in place to enforce mask-wearing and social distancing, disinfection of premises and transport, and remote working for employees over 60. Preventative COVID-19 testing remains ongoing for all plant employees and contractors involved in ensuring continuous production, and contact-tracing is being undertaken, through Rospotrebnadzor (the federal public health agency) laboratories.
