Washington State Park hosts volunteer opportunity for National Public Lands Day Sept. 28 (postponed)

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, SEPT. 12, 2019 – The public is invited to take part in volunteering at Washington State Park in celebration of National Public Lands Day. The event will be held on Saturday, September 28th, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Volunteers will take on stewardship and cleanup projects at Washington State Park.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. at Shelter #1/CCC Ridge. Volunteer projects will take place from 9 a.m. until noon. The Friends of Washington State Park will serve a thank you lunch at noon in shelter #1 to all volunteers.
Registration is required before participating. Volunteers age 17 and younger require parental signature at time of registration to participate. Volunteers 13 and younger also require a chaperone at all times. If you are interested in bringing a group to volunteer, please contact the park office prior to the day of the event at 636-586-5768.
