Gazpromneft-Vostok has begun construction of a gas pipeline which will allow associated petroleum gas (APG) to be fed from the Achimovsky field booster pumping station to the Urmansky field (Tomsk Oblast) booster compressor station. The target throughput capacity of the 18-kilometre pipeline is 250 million cubic metres of gas per year.
Construction of the gas pipeline forms part of a major investment project directed at achieving 95-percent APG usage at the Urmano-Archinskaya group of fields and assets at Gazpromneft-Vostok’s Yuzhno-Pudinsky licence block*. Total investment in the project currently stands at about RUB6.9 billion. Gas produced at these assets will be fed into the gas and condensate processing facility at JSC Tomskgazprom’s Myldzhinskoye oil and gas condensate plant.
The 18-kilometre gas pipeline forms part of a future gas and energy hub involving these generation and gas transportation facilities. Concurrently with the wider project, a booster compression station and vacuum compressor station are also to be built at the Urmanskoye field, as well as a 97-kilometre high-pressure pipeline running from the Urmanskoye field to the Shinginskoye field, and a vacuum compressor station at the Archinskoye field. Total production across all gas infrastructure is expected to reach 500 million cubic metres of gas per year.
Works are due for completion, and facilities expected to be commissioned, at the end of 2019, with the gas transportation system expected to be used for commercial gas sales from 2020.
In terms of the overall investment project, Gazpromneft-Vostok has now completed construction of the linear section of the 97-kilometre high-pressure gas pipeline, as well as the installation of three compression facilities, an integrated sub-station, and a range of other ancillary facilities at the Urmanskoye-field booster compressor station.
Konstantin Karabadzhak, CEO, Gazpromneft-Vostok, confirmed: “The construction of the gas pipeline between the Urmanskoye and Archinskoye fields is a key stage in what is a major project to develop Gazpromneft-Vostok’s infrastructure assets. Completing works across the entire project will facilitate a high level of APG utilisation, which can be flexibly directed not just to our own needs, but also for commercial sales.”
* The Yuzhno-Pudinsky licence block includes the Kulginskoye, Smolyanoye, Yuzhno-Tabaganskoye and Solonovskoye fields.
Gazpromneft-Vostok is a joint venture between Gazprom Neft PJSC, Mubadala Petroleum and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), in which Gazprom Neft holds a 51-percent interest and Mubadala Petroleum and the RDIF 44 percent and five percent, respectively. Gazpromneft-Vostok remains a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft, and is operator of the field.
