FARIMONT, NORTH CAROLINA, USA, September 25, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ --

Operation Call to Action is a campaign developed by Camp4Heroes in North Carolina in direct response to the flooding event currently taking place.
Captain Woody’s, who runs Camp4Heroes, mission has always been to take care of and support first-responders and veterans. Days after the Hurricane hit, First-responders began contacting the camp seeking food, lodging and support so that they could respond to the surrounding community. The camp immediately put an action plan in place and teamed up with the town of Fairmont, NC and surrounding communities in preparation for the full devastation that is yet to come. The rivers are today cresting, a full week after the devastation. And we have more rain on the way.
Hurricane Florence has passed however the flood waters continue to devastate communities. North Carolina currently has over 1.2 million people displaced from their homes at this time, this is the equivalent of filling the Bank of America Stadium 16 times. This number is expected to rise as flooding continues. Of that number only about 20% have flood insurance. As a result, Camp4Heroes has initiated Operation Call to Action and is stepping up as the community’s operation and distribution center for supplies, housing and donations for survivors and First Responders. The goal is to assist the rural areas that are cut off due to rising flood waters. Also, they be servicing the needs of the people in the local community, while hosting first-responders that are the vital pipeline of supplies to the surrounding community.
AllHumanity Global Clean Technology Ambassador Dustin Nord working with Camp4Heroes Marketing Director Kathy Dent and Mike Britt with UPS has coordinated a rapid response with Captain Woody in organizing Operation Call to Action. Through this partnership Camp4Heroes will have supplies donated from Police and Fire Stations from over 5 surrounding states. While making distribution available for Robeson County and surrounding counties through local fire departments and high-water rescue. Camp4Heroes will be available as a resource for all first-responders/ rescue teams and fire departments. Camp4Heroes has now organized Emergency housing, power, supplies and trucking organizations. Currently in route are over a dozen tractors and trailers bringing immediate supplies and storage for both cold and dry goods prior to the launch of Operation Call to Action. The camp and first responders are now organizing a possible helicopter landing location as we are bringing in industrial 30 x 60 air-conditioned tents for first responders/ rescue teams.
