Glen Lerner Injury Attorneys Now Accepting Essure Injury Claims for Review
Glen Lerner Injury Attorneys are now accepting Essure injury claims for review to pursue compensation from the implant manufacturer Bayer.
Prior to the label warning being added in October 2016, Essure implants were marketed as a safe, quick outpatient procedure that was ideal for busy women who were not interested in tubal ligation - a more invasive sterilization procedure.
Those who have experienced a serious side effect from use of the Essure implant are strongly encouraged to reach out to the firm for a free consult. Their injuries may make them eligible for compensation for pain and suffering.
Essure Birth Control Manufactured by Bayer
Bayer’s Essure birth control devices were first approved for the open market in 2002. Since then more than 750,000 women worldwide are estimated to have used this one-of-a-kind non-surgical implant.
Medical providers would take approximately 30-minutes to insert small coils made of nickel alloy and polyester-like materials in each fallopian tube. From there, their bodies natural immunity kicked in and set off an inflammatory response that would cause scar tissue to develop. As the scar tissue built up it would block off each tube.
Contrary to Bayers original claims for a faster rate of recovery and less pain and bleeding, over 10,000 U.S. women reported serious side effects after an implant procedure. Despite these reports, Bayer continues to maintain that Essure birth control implants are not dangerous or cause injuries.
In addition, they claim that their decision to stop distribution and sales of the device come December 31, 2018 is due to a lack of sales.
Women and female advocacy groups disagree with Bayers claims of no-harm. Currently, there are nearly 17,000 lawsuits that contradict Bayers stand stating that the pharmaceutical giant failed to:
- Warn women of long-term side-effects.
- Report adverse events and medical device complaints regarding product malfunction to the F.D.A.
- Properly train physicians on use of product.
- Complete risk assessment of Essure.
- Screen physicians to make sure they were qualified to sell Essure.
“Large pharmaceutical corporations such as Bayer should be held accountable for their negligent actions. If you or someone you loved was harmed from an Essure implant, please know that we are here to fight hard to get you the justice you deserve. We are prepared to go up against corporations, no matter how big,” stated attorney Glen Lerner.
