The International Air Transport Association (IATA) International Aviation Fuel Forum has taken place in Saint Petersburg, Russia for the first time, with Gazprom Neft acting as General Partner. A record number of participants attended the event, which brought together more than 650 delegates, from 61 countries. Fifty seven of the world’s leading air carriers were represented, and more than 100 companies supplying aviation fuel and equipment for aircraft refuelling.
Forum participants examined issues concerning the implementation of inclusive international standards in aviation refuelling, the use of digital data-transfer technologies in the aviation refuelling industry, and the outlook for market development in respect of oil products and the development of trading platforms in various parts of the world. Gazprom Neft specialists presented at commercial and technical sessions of the Forum.
IATA is the industry’s most widely recognised organisation, setting standards in aviation refuelling, flight safety, ground handling operations, and billing settlements. The IATA Aviation Fuel Forum is one of the industry’s best-attended and most representative professional events, bringing together the key players on the international aviation refuelling market, every year.

Government representatives and Russian aviation refuelling market participants also made clear their keenness to join in initiatives aimed at ensuring market competitiveness and transparency in pricing mechanisms and, together with airlines and aviation fuel operators, to consider increasing the profitability of aviation fuel supplies to airports in remote regions.
