Primera LX400 ink cartridges are compatible with the LX400, LX800 and LX810 printers, with the LX400 using only a single multicolor ink cartridge as compared to the LX800 and 810, which use both a multicolor and black Primera Technology ink cartridge. Additionally, dye-based black and pigment black LX800 cartridges – as well as LX810 ink cartridges – are available. The LX500 color label printer, set to be available through DuraFast in April, will use single multicolor LX500 ink cartridge in the same manner as its predecessor, the Primera LX400, with the cartridges expected to be similar to LX400 variants.

With regard to the LX900 and LX2000 and their Primera inks, Canadian and U.S. DuraFast customers can choose from LX900 ink cartridges with either dye-based or pigment-based inks, with usage of the new pigment LX900 cartridges requiring the semi-permanent pigment ink print head for the LX900 printer. Irrespective of ink type, the LX900 uses individual ink cartridges for cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink, with these cartridges unique to the LX900 label printer.

According to DuraFast Label Company representatives, all of the Primera LX900 labels are only compatible with the LX900 dye-based inks, but techs can make custom labels to use with the pigment LX900 inks on a more diverse set of label materials. The LX2000 inks can also be used with all the Primera LX900 labels.
