For Spiderman – and the Hero Inside Each of Us

Spider-Man: Night of the Hunter is a true story of survival. The film pits Spider-Man against one of his worst enemies who has never been in a Spider-Man film before!
— Jeffrey Biers
PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA, UNITED STATES, March 30, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The world met Spiderman in 1961, thanks to the editorial hand of Stan Lee, pen name for Stanley Martin Lieber. The character caught the hearts of America. Peter Parker, the day-to-day name of the character, was a slender, intelligent young man who lived with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben. At age fifteen, this studious young man is bitten on the hand by a radio-active spider and from there many tales ensue.

Fans love him. Peter Parker is the perennial un-heroic hero. He has problems meeting the bills and he has a hard time with his boss. He loves his Aunt May, but she is elderly and frail. And he is very unlucky in love. In fact, the only time he really gets respect is when he dons the Spidey costume and gets out there to web the bad guys.

Now, Jeffrey Biers, a dedicated Spiderman fan, would like to bring to the world a new aspect of Spiderman – the aspect that inspires readers and cinema viewers alike to rising above their daily challenges to become the Heroes that are hidden in each and every one of us. Spidey fans everywhere know that as adept as Spiderman is at web slinging, swinging through the air, and using his intelligence to track down those bad guys, that isn’t the part that endears him to everyone.

No, it is the days when he is second-guessing himself, fretting over bills, deadlines and personal relationships where he never seems to have the signals just quite right – and yet he is out there at night, casting his web, swinging through the city, righting wrongs.

Jeffrey Biers is no stranger to film production. He has written the script for Spiderman: Night of the Hunter and will be playing Spiderman. He had been approached by Marvel to play Spidey, but the role wound up going to Tom Holland – back in the days before they made Captain America: Civil War. Producer Jerry Tomassacci is simultaneously working on his own film, Dr. Tribune. Producer Len Dinapples has produced local films and is an expert Spiderman fan. Ivan Mathias Alcibar, another Spiderman fan, will play Kraven the Hunter – an infamous villain from the comic book days of Spiderman.

Why are they doing this? Because Spiderman reminds us that no matter how bad it gets, we still need to get back up and keep swinging – we can’t give up. This will be a film produced by true Spiderman fans for Spiderman fans, the ones who remember how it was back when Spidey could only be found in the inked squares of comic book pages.

But that isn’t all. This will be a film-maker’s challenge, done in the old style of filming. It will focus on real punches, real kicks and be filmed on location. The production team hopes to hire the stunt people who helped make Spectre and Gravity. Because the film will have a number of aerialist sequences, emphasis will be placed on getting excellent equipment and on safety.

That makes this film not only a film for Spiderman fans, but also for those who are fans of the old style of filming, where timing, camera angle and skill accounted for the difference between art and slapstick.
Your contributions will be used to fund equipment, transportation, food and lodging and compensation for actors and other skilled contributors. It will also be used for costuming – three Spiderman costumes in particular, as well as costumes for the villain and for other players.

Should this film not be fully funded, contributors will be contacted and given a choice of whether the funds should be returned or saved for future purposes.

Should this Indiegogo Crowdfunding Campaign succeed, there will be plenty of loot for everyone – scripts, t-shirts, digital copies of the video, cameo roles, Skype conferences, meet the cast and crew and even – if your pockets are deep enough – being an official executive producer with full access to everything. Just one little thing: you are responsible for your own transportation.

This is it, folks, this is the dream. A film that depicts a side of Spiderman that just isn’t going to make it into those flashy, big-budget, super-effects films; and a film that is a test of true ability for the director, the stunt people and the actors. You can make it happen.
