What next for the Suez Canal?

CAIRO, EGYPT, September 2, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- As President Sisi inaugurated the expanded Suez Canal last month; all eyes are now on the next phase of the development of Egypt’s economy: The development of the Suez Canal Zone and supporting industries.

With the increased volume of shipping passing through the canal, it is expected that Egypt will now become a top global hub for the transshipment of goods and for the location of value-added services, as new industry establishes itself in the Canal Zone corridor and on Egypt’s coastline.

As part of this process, a total of US$150 billion of investment is expected to take place in the zone in the coming 15 years, together with major projects in Egypt’s coastal areas.

IQPC has organised Coastal and Canal Zone Development Conference (17-19 November, Cairo, Egypt) in response to these developments.

"Obviously these projects will not be without challenges, and this conference aims to bring together leaders from these projects to address their challenges and meet with partners who can help them implement their visions of Egypt’s economic future.” continues Rory
