The Uni Charge Gets Rid of Cord and Cable Clutter

FOOTHILL RANCH, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, November 19, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Ironic, isn’t it? The many devices that we now carry with us everywhere we go were supposed to have made our lives more portable. We can check our email, order a meal, read a best-seller, listen to music, and measure our pulse rate without having to get up from our chair, whether we’re relaxing at home or working at the office. But look a little more closely. Look past all those sleek, slim, ultra-modern devices, and what do you see? If you haven’t already tripped over them, what you probably see is a massive pile-up of the cables and cords that are the lifelines for our devices. The truth is that all these products have made us more dependent than ever on electrical outlets so that we can keep all our gadgets in working order. By the time we’ve plugged in all of the devices that we need in order for our technology-centric lives to run smoothly, our living quarters look like a traffic jam of cables and cords at rush hour.

The Uni Charge Universal Smart Device Charging Station is a small, lightweight, portable solution to a very cumbersome, tangled problem. Developed by Engineers Balaji Raghunathan, Francois Lindsay, and Brian Le of Rapid Conn Inc. to eliminate the need for multiple cables, the Uni Charge can charge almost any of your favorite gadgets, whether it’s the smartphone that’s always in use, your fitness tracker for your exercise regimen, your tablet and e-reader, smart watch, and even some heart rate monitors, all in the same station. In order to bring this product to mass market, the engineering team is joining up with Indiegogo for a crowdfunding campaign to raise $20,000 by January 3, 2015. The popularity of the invention has already brought in over $16,000 in crowdfunding dollars. The Uni Charge is available in black or white, but if the crowdfunding campaign exceeds its goal and hits the $30,000 mark, additional color options including silver, brown, or pink will be added.

The Uni Charge built-in rechargeable battery means that your device is even more streamlined and efficient. By charging your device in any USB port, you can take it with you wherever you go, indoors or outdoors. Your Uni Smartwatch Holder connects to the device’s USB port, but you can also plug it into your car, computer, or notebook. The Uni Charge team has thought of everything to give you a portable power source.
The goal of the Uni Charge is to create a one-stop solution for charging just about any smart device that you can find, thanks to the product’s connector wheel. This patent-in-process wheel can be rotated to select the connector for your Apple, Samsung, Google, Amazon, Nokia, LG, HTC, Motorola, Sony or other brand-name device with a micro-USB connector for charging. Once you insert your device in the connector, the charging begins. The Uni Charge can multitask because of its two additional USB ports on the side that can charge other devices.
Rapid Conn Inc. is confident that this product can meet the needs of a modern society which is going to continue to expand its technological range without changing real estate. The Uni Charge can do the same job that a standard wall outlet can, in the same amount of time, but in much less space once those cords are no longer needed. Rapid Conn Inc. has big plans for their little invention, and the engineers envision a time when the Uni Charge will be standard equipment in cars, homes, offices, restaurants, college dorms, even cruise ships. It’s easy to see why. Minimizing clutter and maximizing space are goals that everyone is striving for, without sacrificing any of the innovations that have become central to the way we live our lives.
