BAMBERG, GERMANY, June 25, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The International Board for IT Governance Qualifications (IBITGQ) has announced the international launch of its PCI DSS Implementation qualification and training scheme. Delegates who attend an approved IBITGQ training course and pass the required examination will be awarded the PCI DSS Implementation (PCI IM) qualification. The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a contractual requirement for every organisation in the world that stores, processes or transmits payment card information. The standard is administered by the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SCC) with the specific objectives of decreasing payment card fraud across the Internet and increasing the security of confidential payment card transactions.
The PCI DSS Implementation scheme comprises a three-day training course designed to provide a practical coverage of the technical and business requirements of PCI DSS v3.0 and full preparation for the IBITGQ 90-minute written examination. Knowledge of the implementation and maintenance of PCI DSS is considered essential for the career development of global information security managers.
Nora Clifford, Chair of the IBITGQ Examination Panel, confirmed, “The increasing need for organisations to mitigate the risks associated with cyber crime is fuelling an unprecedented demand for qualified information security professionals. PCI DSS is a truly international standard and applies to the largest online retailer and the smallest shop keeper (who accepts payment cards) in most countries of the world. The IBITGQ PCI IM qualification provides employers and candidates with an independent and unbiased benchmark of the competence required to implement PCI DSS. It also provides our IBITGQ ATO (Accredited Training Organisation) partners with the opportunity to win new business in their respective sales territories.”
The PCI DSS Implementation qualification scheme is a key element in the IBITGQ Cyber Security portfolio of courses and exams. This includes the ISO27001 Learning Pathway which features the flagship ISO27001 Certified ISMS Lead Implementer and Lead Auditor qualifications. PCI DSS Implementation has also been released to IBITGQ ATO (Accredited Training Organisation) partners, with IT Governance Ltd in the UK announcing its first PCI DSS Implementation exam dates on 23 October
