The Basin Republican Rustler is the oldest newspaper in Big Horn County. The first publication as the Rustler was June 1, 1889, by Joseph Newton DeBarthe. DeBarthe later sold the Rustler to W.A. Richards who hired then sold the newspaper to Tom Daggett, a New York City editor.
