Shirley and Bob Larmore founded the free-distribution Sequim Shopper in January 1974, transforming the publication into a weekly community newspaper, The Jimmy Come Lately Gazette, in July of that year. Sale of the paper and a 1990 redesign brought a change in the masthead to the Sequim Gazette.
