KIOW arrived on the air on November 8, 1978, built by Tony and Sue Coloff. The station is outside of Forest City near Pilot Knob State Park–one of the highest elevations in Iowa. KIOW’s radio signal goes north to Hope, MN and south to Boondocks, Iowa – running up and down I-35 with 25,000 watts of power, digital stereo sound, 24 hours a day. Mix 107.3 FM plays a unique mix of music.
