The Colorado Leader has been a family owned business since 1962. Originally owned by Jim Eitzen, Jim Eitzen II now owns and publishes the paper along with his wife Jan. Jayne Owston joined The Colorado Leader in 2006 as the Managing Editor. The Colorado Leader has been in publication since 1919. It was previously The Denver Leader and The Colorado which were merged to form The Colorado Leader.
