The San Diego Reader is an alternative press newspaper with the second highest circulation paper in the county of San Diego, with a four-week readership of more than 700,000 adults.[2] distributed free in stands and private businesses throughout the county, funded by advertisements. Averaging 90,000 copies per issue, it reportedly has one of the largest circulations of any alternative weekly publication in the nation.[3] It frequently presents an opposing viewpoint to the San Diego Union Tribune, the primary printed newspaper in the city.
