On August, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners recognized National Emergency Management Awareness Month, honoring the dedicated professionals who work every day to keep Indian River County prepared before, during, and after emergencies.

The proclamation was presented to Emergency Services Director David Johnson, Emergency Management Chief Ryan Lloyd, Emergency Management Coordinator Mason Kozac, Senior Planner Rachel Ivey, Planner and Training & Exercise Specialist Erin Reyes, and Mitigation & Recovery Specialist Dustin Vangeison.

Emergency management is a team effort. While this proclamation recognizes the work of our Emergency Management Division, our mission would not be possible without the departments, first responders, agencies, organizations, and community partners who work alongside us every day.
From preparedness and planning to response and recovery, these partnerships strengthen our ability to serve the community and help keep Indian River County ready for whatever comes our way.
