Applications now open for inaugural Douglas County Citizen Academy
Douglas County is now accepting applications for its inaugural Citizen Academy, a new program that gives residents an in-depth look at county government, public service operations, strategic priorities and more.
Through direct access to Elected Officials, County staff and subject matter experts, participants will gain a better understanding of how local government operates and how County services support the community.
Participants will experience government operations firsthand through presentations, facility tours, hands-on demonstrations, small group discussions and conversations with County leadership.
The Citizen Academy is intended for Douglas County residents who want to become more informed and engaged in their community, whether they are new to the area or simply interested in learning more about the work of county government.
The cohort-based program includes one evening session each month over the course of eight to 10 months at County facilities throughout Douglas County.
Applications are open through Aug. 26. Learn more and apply by visiting the Citizen Academy webpage.
