MSH LEADERS PARTICIPATE IN FINAL EHR REVIEW AND VALIDATION

Leaders from across Mississippi State Hospital gathered in the Building 71 Conference Room Aug. 4-6 for the final review and validation event for the hospital’s new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The three-day event, facilitated by representatives from Netsmart, provided an opportunity to review key workflows and validate processes before the system moves into its next phase.

The review followed the patient-care process from intake through discharge and included sessions on registration, clinical assessments, medication management, interdisciplinary treatment planning, daily documentation and progress notes. Participants also reviewed group documentation, census verification, discharge planning and related workflows.

The final day focused heavily on business and administrative functions, including census charge generation, billing, incident reporting, remittance processing, service corrections and month-end processes.

The event brought together leaders representing many different areas of MSH to take a close look at how the EHR will support both clinical and business operations throughout the hospital. Participation in the review and validation process is an important part of preparing MSH for a successful transition to the new system.
