Happy 4th of July, Accomac!
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Independence Day with us this year! Whether you watched the parade, cheered from Front Street, or joined in the festivities on the Green, we hope you had a wonderful time. Take a look through the photos below capturing the spirit of the day.
None of this happens without the generosity of our volunteers, town leaders, and community partners. A heartfelt thank you to:
Byron Wilkins and Wyatt McClure for manning the water and otter pop station, and for their help with event setup and takedown;
Christina Morse Chichrello for coordinating this year's Court Green events, serving as our charismatic MC, and making sure everyone stayed hydrated before and during the event;
Councilman Chip Lewis for leading setup and takedown, and for keeping the parade route running smoothly;
Councilwoman Mary Dahlke for setting out cones along Front Street by the Green;
Keith Koerner and Coldwell Banker for providing hot dogs, snow cones, and drinks;
DPS Parksley for generously staging an ambulance on-site in case of medical emergencies;
Onancock Fire Department for a live "call-and-response" demonstration, complete with decorations, ahead of the parade;
Thank you all for making this year's celebration a true community effort. We look forward to seeing you next year!
