Dear Governor Abbot:

The County of Cameron, Texas is facing significant threats to life, health and property due to:

Event 26-0018 14th June Severe Weather.

• The potential impact of this is: Event 26-0018 14th June Severe Weather Event may cause significant flooding throughout Cameron County, especially in poor drainage areas.
• The National Weather Service (NWS) is predicting between 5-10 inches of rain in Cameron County – potentially creating flooding up to 2-3 feet in depth.

I have determined that this incident is of such severity and magnitude that an effective response is beyond the capability of the local jurisdiction to control. Pursuant to §418.001 of the Texas Government Code. I am requesting that you declare a disaster for the County of Cameron and issue appropriate directives to deal with the emergency: including:

Disaster Declaration for Cameron County should take effect immediately.

Furthermore. I am asking that successive proclamations to be issued and remain in effect until the threat of loss of life, injury, or damage to property is contained.

A timely response to this request would be appreciated.
