Temporary Power Outage Reported in Purcell; Restoration Complete
PURCELL, Okla. (April 2, 2026) — The Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA), in coordination with the City of Purcell, has restored power to all customers affected by a temporary outage earlier today. The outage, caused by an equipment issue within the electric system, impacted a portion of the community. Most residents maintained service throughout the event.
Power was fully restored at approximately 3:48 p.m., and crews have confirmed that all affected areas are back online.
OMPA is coordinating with partner organizations to complete follow-up work related to the equipment involved. Additional maintenance is scheduled for tomorrow to support continued system reliability. OMPA and the City of Purcell appreciate the public’s patience and understanding during the outage.
