Celebrating 105 Years
Residents, staff, and family at the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home (SNSVH) recently gathered to celebrate a remarkable milestone! There were all there as Virginia “Ginny” Mahaney celebrated her 105th birthday!
For the past 12 years, Ginny has called the SNSVH her home. So, it was very fitting and quite an honor for everyone to gather together to help her celebrate. In planning for her special day, Ginny was asked what she wanted. She kept it simple and joyful asking for champagne and a cake filled with custard and fruit.
Surrounded by her son, fellow residents, and staff, Ginny enjoyed a heartfelt birthday celebration in her room as everyone sang, “Happy Birthday” and shared warm wishes.
Filled with gratitude, Ginny smiled throughout the celebration and reflected on the occasion by saying, “This is such a great day,” adding that she was thankful for another year.
The SNSVH is honored to celebrate residents like Ginny whose lives, stories, and spirit continue to inspire everyone around them. Happy 105th Birthday Ginny!
