Smarter Spending. Better Roads.

SMARTER SPENDING. BETTER ROADS.

"Every tax dollar we spend on roads should go to the right road at the right time."

That belief is what brought Assistant Road Supervisor Jackson Webster to Campbell County. It's also what put a new road program called InfraHub in motion.

Here's how it works. Two vehicles drive every road the county maintains. Each one carries cameras that record sharp, high-quality video in every direction at once. The cameras gather information that gives every mile a score from 0 to 100 — a report card for pavement. The higher the score, the better the road.

For the first time, Campbell County has hard facts on every road it owns.

What's failing? What's holding up? What can wait? What can't?

As Jackson puts it: "Before this, decisions were based on experience and observation, which is valuable, but it's incomplete. Now we know what we're doing and why."

Smarter spending. Better roads. A county that runs the way people expect it to.
