Alabama State Board of Midwifery Board Meeting Minutes
The Alabama State Board of Midwifery met on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, to conduct business. Board members present included (1) Ms. Laura Reeder (Chair), (2) Ms. Christine Litas (member), (3) Ms. Noel Leithart (member), and (4) Ms. Layla Brown (member). Dr. Joyce Loyd-Davis (member), Dr. Pamela Smith (member), Mr. Chris Megginson (member), and Mr. Brad Chynoweth (attorney) were absent.
The Board meeting had been advertised on the Secretary of State’s website, by the Alabama Open Meetings Act. With a quorum of board members present, Ms. Reeder called the meeting to order at 5:08 pm.
Ms. Reeder brought forward one application for licensure. After discussion, Ms. Leithart moved that the board approve the application for LM-0026. Ms. Litas seconded the motion. Vote taken. All were in favor, with none opposed. Ms. Reeder congratulated Susan Cook, LM-0026.
With no further business to discuss, Ms. Leithart moved to adjourn, and Ms. Brown seconded. Ms. Reeder adjourned the meeting at 5:12 pm.
