Chesterfield, NH – On the evening of October 9, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Conservation Officers from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department received a report of a solo ATV operator in Chesterfield in Pisgah State Park reporting his ATV was disabled and was in need of assistance. He was located on the Reservoir Trail by North Round Pond in Pisgah State Park, a very remote and difficult area to access. Due to the remote location and imminent darkness and cold temperatures, Conservation Officers responded to Horseshoe Road Trailhead and accessed the trail via ATV. A Conservation Officer located the operator who was identified as Angelo Mejias, 68, of Uncasville, CT.
Once on scene, Conservation Officers were able to assist Mejias approximately 2 miles back to the trailhead. Mejias was prepared for a day’s ride in Pisgah State Park.
