9th Circuit rejects pretrial inmates’ bid for wages
Pretrial inmates preparing food for a private company at an Alameda County jail, and others in California, are not entitled to minimum wages or overtime pay, but only to compensation of no more than 25 cents an hour, a federal appeals court ruled Friday.
