Statement from Senator Gordon Johnson on the FY2025 Budget

Trenton – Senator Gordon Johnson issued the following statement in support of New Jersey’s FY2025 Budget:

“Every year, the state budget comes down to who and what we value most in New Jersey, and this year, we delivered big wins for some of our most honorable citizens – veterans, educators, and healthcare workers.

“The initiative to end veterans’ homelessness in New Jersey is commendable and will greatly benefit our most vulnerable veterans and the towns and cities they reside in.

“Additional financing to upgrade the state’s veterans homes to single occupancy rooms will provide more privacy, protection, and better care for our veterans and their families. This is the kind of support our military heroes deserve.

“Key funding to expand Ramapo College’s nursing education program, upgrade hospital medical equipment, and support senior living facilities will strengthen our state’s health system and workforce.

“These major investments go directly into the foundation of our communities and will greatly pay off in the future.”

Senator Johnson is Chairman of the Senate Military and Veterans’ Affairs Committee and sits on the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee. He represents Legislative District 37 (Bergen).
