Now available: Controlled hunt drawing results for deer, elk, pronghorn, fall bear, turkey, and swan
Results of the deer, elk, pronghorn, fall black bear, fall turkey, and swan controlled hunt drawings are now available. Applicants who provided a valid email address will receive notification of their draw results.
Email notifications will be steadily sent to applicants throughout the day, so some applicants may receive emails later than others.
In an effort to improve user experience in the licensing system, Fish and Game officials are asking applicants to please wait for their email notification to learn their draw results, rather than immediately logging into their online license account. Hunters logging into their online license account may be presented with a virtual line to enter the site which allows Fish and Game to manage the high volume of hunters accessing their accounts.
For more information about how to view your drawing results, visit Fish and Game's Controlled Hunt Results Information webpage.
A Note on Resident Capped Zone Elk Tags
Hunters are reminded that anyone who applied for a controlled elk hunt (except Super Hunts, Extra Hunts, or Depredation Hunts) is ineligible to buy a capped zone elk tag until five days after tags go on sale.
Sales dates for capped elk zones except the Sawtooth Zone is July 10 at 10 a.m. MDT. The Sawtooth Zone elk tags will go on sale at 10 a.m. on July 12 for in-person purchases and 1 p.m. for online purchases. Sawtooth tags will be evenly divided between in-person and online sales.
New CWD rules could affect your hunts
Fish and Game has the following changes for the 2024 hunting season:
- Unit 18 was added to Unit 14, which makes up the CWD Management Zone for 2024. Unit 15 was removed from the Management Zone because no positive animals have been found there after extensive testing.
- New for 2024, CWD testing is mandatory in Units 18, 23, 24, and 32A for mule deer and white-tailed deer and continues in Unit 14, but does not apply to elk and moose taken in any of these units. Units 23, 24, and 32A are not within the CWD Management Zone, so carcass transportation restrictions do not apply.
- People hunting in CWD Management Zone must abide by special hunting rules, which can be seen on the CWD webpage.
