Asia Pacific Tax Hub Distinguished Speaker Lecture on “Multilevel Tax Policy and Administration: South-South Perspectives on Digital Transformation”

Description

Professor Ehtisham Ahmad, an internationally renowned scholar on tax reforms, will share his insights in the use of digital tools in furthering the sustainable development agenda. He will also draw on South-South perspectives to illustrate the importance of a coordinated approach to policy, administration, and use of digital technologies at both local and national levels. The event is an initiative of the Asia Pacific Tax Hub and ADB’s Public Sector Management and Governance Sector Office.

Objectives

The lecture aims to share insights and exchange ideas with ADB staff, tax authorities, and researchers on tax policy and administration reforms, using developing countries’ experience, which will shed light on potential avenues for ADB’s engagement with developing member countries on domestic resource mobilization (DRM).

  • ADB staff in resident missions, regional departments, and other departments including the Economic Research and Development Impact Department, Independent Evaluation Department, and Public Sector Management and Governance Sector Office
  • External participants from the Philippines' Bureau of Internal Revenue, Department of Finance, National Tax Research Center, Philippine Institute for Development Studies, UP School of Economics
