The STRENGTHEN2 project pursues its capacity building activities in Côte d’Ivoire
The training session’s participants included representatives’ organizations that cover various facets of youth employment, statistical analysis, and policy evaluation in Cote d’Ivoire. The participants included representatives of government bodies like the Ministry for Youth Promotion, Vocational Integration and Civic Service, along with educational institutions such as Nangui Abrogoua University. Additionally, representatives focused on youth employment and statistical offices like the National Accounting Department were present.
The first day of the training set the stage for the event by defining employment indicators and measures and introducing the ILO framework on decent work and green jobs. During the following days economic theory, assumptions of impact assessments, the Social Accounting Matrix, employment impact assessments, and method selection were discussed.
All respondents to the satisfaction questionnaire highlighted gaining new knowledge or additional skills in impact assessment. Moreover, 90 per cent of them stated that the training significantly enhanced their abilities in conducting Employment Impact Assessments.
