Sessionwire Studio is my go-to for virtual sessions! A must-have tool when working with creatives no matter where they are in the world.”
— Jerry “Wonda” Duplessis, 3 Grammy Awards, 16 Grammy nominations
VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA, April 13, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ -- Sessionwire, the leading audio collaboration software company, announced today the release of its new Automute feature for Sessionwire Studio

Sessionwire is a browser-based platform that streamlines live collaboration between content creators and audio producers. It provides a single, elegant, user-friendly communications solution that replaces multiple applications. Users can easily invite collaborators with a reusable studio link, connecting them with HQ video, voice, high-quality audio, file transfer, screen sharing, and Slack-like messaging. Real-time connection ensures clear communication and enhanced collaboration.

Automute is a revolutionary, must-have feature that solves the problems created by open talkback microphones, which can create havoc while monitoring audio during remote sessions. Current live collaboration solutions require a host and connected callers to manually control multiple audio sources to prevent spill into live talkback channels. Left unmanaged, open talkback mics can create echoes, phase shifting, and background noise for listeners monitoring the high-quality audio of a remote source.

Founder and CTO Robin Leboe says, "We’re excited to provide the online production community with this innovative new tool for managing remote session communications. This feature will address a huge existing pain point for our members. It’s by far our most requested feature to date.”

Automute constantly monitors the host's HQ Audio transmission levels while in a session call. When active, Automute uses the presence or absence of an HQ Audio signal to remotely mute and unmute the talkback microphones of everyone in the session call. The host of the call can set independent trigger thresholds for both muting and unmuting, providing fine-grained control over Sessionwire's Automute operation..

To facilitate a truly 'studio-like' experience, Automute can be overridden by pressing and holding the 'T' key on the computer keyboard. This serves as a momentary switch that allows a session call participant to break in and speak even when Automute is engaged. In circumstances where override is not appropriate, the session call host can engage the Mute Lock button to prevent anyone from overriding the Automute when it's engaged. When Automute is turned off, a Mute All button is available. Mute all is provided for manually muting and unmuting all talkback mics simultaneously.

Automute for Sessionwire is a huge win for audio engineers and producers who will no longer have to live with the hassle of muting and unmuting microphones during a remote session. Automute does it automatically. Once again we’ve listened to our members and delivered a feature that makes their online production workflow almost identical to working in the same studio!” said Colin Wiebe, CEO of Sessionwire.

Sessionwire's Automute feature is available now for Sessionwire Studio.
