Overnight Rolling Stops Planned for WB Route 22/322 in Dauphin County
Harrisburg, PA – PennDOT announced today that overnight rolling stops are planned on westbound Route 22/322 from Elmerton Avenue to Interstate 81 in Dauphin County.
Weather permitting, rolling stops of up to 15 minutes will be in place on westbound Route 22/322 from midnight to 5:00 AM Wednesday, November 16. The stoppages will allow a contractor to jack up a bridge spanning I-81 so the bridge bearings can be replaced.
Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to slow down when approaching and traveling through work zones for their safety as well as for the safety of the road crews.
This work is part of a project that includes bridge preservation work, approach pavement work, sign and sign structure replacements, and other miscellaneous construction on I-81 from Progress Avenue in the City of Harrisburg to the Susquehanna River at the George N. Wade Bridge in Susquehanna Township, and on Route 22 from Elmerton Avenue to about 0.5 miles north of I-81 in the city.
Deblin, Inc., of Mechanicsburg, PA, is the prime contractor on this $9,884,046 project. This project is expected to be completed by October 27, 2023.
