A RESOLUTION

Honoring the life and achievements of Pennsylvania Supreme Court

Chief Justice Max Baer.

WHEREAS, Chief Justice Max Baer passed away on Saturday,

October 1, 2022, at 74 years of age; and

WHEREAS, Chief Justice Baer was born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny

County, on December 24, 1947, the son of Henry "Budd" and Helen

Baer; and

WHEREAS, Chief Justice Baer was a 1971 graduate of the

University of Pittsburgh; and

WHEREAS, Chief Justice Baer earned a juris doctorate degree

in 1975 from Duquesne University and a Masters of Tax Program

from Robert Morris College in 1986; and

WHEREAS, Chief Justice Baer served as a deputy attorney

general for the Commonwealth from 1975 to 1980, and he was in

private law practice from 1980 to 1989; and
