Lane Restriction Scheduled on NB I-83 South Bridge in Harrisburg

Contractor to perform steel repairs
Harrisburg, PA – A lane restriction is scheduled on northbound Interstate 83 on the John Harris Memorial (South) Bridge spanning the Susquehanna River between Lemoyne Borough in Cumberland County and the City of Harrisburg in Dauphin County.
PennDOT bridge maintenance contractor JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA, will perform miscellaneous steel repairs Monday, August 8, through Thursday, August 11. The right lane of northbound I-83, including a section of the exit lane to 2nd Street in the City of Harrisburg, will be closed each day from approximately 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The exit will remain open, as will three lanes of northbound traffic.
Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to slow down when approaching and traveling through work zones for their safety as well as for the safety of the road crews.
