Datadvance signs software distribution agreement with SAS

Datadvance, a joint venture between EADS and Russian investors specialised in predictive modelling software, and SAS, a leading provider of business analytics software and services, have signed a software cross-distribution agreement at the Paris Air Show. This agreement allows Datadvance to sell SAS products in the European aerospace market and enables SAS to market and sell Datadvance products in Europe. The solution resulting from this partnership will offer SAS access to the simulation segment of the aerospace market. It will also give Datadvance the capability of responding to optimisation-related inquiries from customers in the finance, banking, insurance and government markets.

MACROS, developed by Datadvance, is a toolkit for predictive modelling, simulation based on data handling, and multidisciplinary optimisation. It helps to reduce design time and the costs of complex engineering products. This technology is primarily intended for the aerospace industry. At the moment MACROS is successfully used by the EADS Divisions Airbus and Eurocopter but it can also be used in other areas including the automotive, shipbuilding, financial services and biotechnology industries. MACROS is based on the synergies obtained from combining advanced mathematical methods for intelligent data analysis with advanced optimisation algorithms including surrogate-assisted multi-objective optimisation.

“The analytical power of SAS, its ability to handle huge volumes of data, combined with the unique computational technique of MACROS will allow us together to bring about a major advance in the field of predictive maintenance,” said Edouard Fourcade, General manager of SAS France.

Pierre-Laurent Kociemba, CEO at Datadvance, said “We are excited about our partnership with SAS in Europe and Russia and we plan to expand it globally. We believe that there is a great synergy in our products. The fully integrated solution, scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2011, will offer unparalleled technical performance for data simulation and data management, and incomparable ease of use to the market.”

By implementing MACROS within the SAS software products, SAS and Datadvance will be able to offer their customers new features in terms of simulation at greater speed, with more accurate performance and reduced time and cost for processing data.
