Airbus Group To Have Major Presence at Farnborough Air Show

Airbus Group and its Divisions will present a wide array of cutting-edge products and emerging technologies that are shaping the future of the aeronautics industry at the Farnborough International Air Show from 14 to 20 July.

A number of aircraft will be on static display, including the A380 double-decker from Wednesday 16 to 20 July, and the new A350 XWB from 14 to 17 July. The A350 XWB is also part of the flying display together with the military airlifter A400M.

The Airbus Group Pavilion area will include a full size A350 XWB cockpit mock-up. Furthermore, Airbus Defence and Space exhibits the multi-mission C295 aircraft and the Atlante Unmanned Aerial System.

At Farnborough, the Group will also showcase its E-Aircraft innovations in the field of propulsion systems. On display will be the E-Fan, an all-electric general aviation training aircraft. It is exhibited together with the hybrid electric motor glider Diamond DA36 E-Star 2. In addition, the Group will present its Flight Path Optimization technology which reduces aircraft fuel consumption. Together with Rolls-Royce, Airbus Group has also been working on the E-Thrust project, which is related to hybrid electric distributed propulsion systems. A model will demonstrate this concept at the Airbus Group Pavilion.

Airbus Group is committed to strengthen diversity across the company and to motivate young people to consider careers in aerospace. On Wednesday 16 July, the company will host a reception with the International Aviation Women’s Association (IAWA).

On Friday 18 July, students will have the chance to discover the world of aerospace during talks with Airbus Group experts and a visit of the static display.
