IT Governance Publishing Book of the Year Award 2011 - winner announced
/EINPresswire.com/ This year saw the launch of the 1st Annual IT Governance Publishing (ITGP) Book of the Year Awards. All the existing titles published before the end of February 2011 were eligible for the award, with the aim being to bring increased recognition to the ITGP portfolio, and to those authors that go the extra mile to promote their book within its market.
The awards were overseen by our editorial board, and the winning title was to be the book; that in the 12 months to 28th February 2011, achieved the highest combination of unit sales volume through all available channels plus, received the highest number of reader recommendations via an online survey, with a voting deadline of 31st March 2011.
Following an analysis of sales volume and the count up of public votes, we take great pleasure in announcing, the first winning title of this exciting new award, as 'Cloud Security and Governance: Who's on your cloud?' (www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/3178), authored by Sumner Blount and Rob Zanella of CA Technologies.
Sumner Blount commented, "We have enjoyed working with the team at IT Governance, and are very pleased that we won this award. Writing this book was a lot of work, but we are proud of the final result, and hope that our readers find the material helpful to them in their professional life".
"It's an honour to receive such an award. I've reviewed the list of books your company has published. The list has many impressive entries and I find being selected from among them to be very humbling", added Rob Zanella.
It was a closely run competition and so we take this opportunity to acknowledge Brian Honan and his book 'ISO27001 in a Windows Environment' (www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/2207), which was the runner up in this year's awards.
Alan Calder, CEO of IT Governance said, "The launch of this award has been a great way to acknowledge our authors, and the essential guidance they provide in their books. Both the winning and runner-up title provide vital material for today's organisations, directors, managers and practitioners and the comments received in the public vote really show just how much readers value ITGP titles. We look forward to the 2012 contest".
