Route 30 Ardmore Boulevard Crossover Begins this Weekend in Forest Hills

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing a traffic crossover on eastbound Route 30 (Ardmore Boulevard) in Forest Hills Borough, Allegheny County will begin Friday night, April 1 weather permitting.

An eastbound crossover on Route 30 will be implemented Friday night at approximately 7 p.m. between Lafeyette Road and Fairfax Road through mid-July as crews perform culvert reconstruction in two locations and relocate utility lines along the corridor. To accommodate this work, the following traffic configuration and restrictions will occur:

  • Traffic headed eastbound on Route 30 will be crossed over utilizing a single westbound lane.

  • Westbound traffic will be maintained using a single lane throughout the corridor.

  • Access to Bevington Road, Leola Road, and Fairfax Road will be closed, requiring traffic to use Braddock Road as a detour.

  • Access to Centurion Drive will also be closed, requiring traffic to use Filmore Road as a detour.

Shortly following this crossover completion in mid-July, an approximate 100-day crossover will occur carrying westbound Route 30 traffic using an eastbound lane. More information will be provided closer to date.

The Joseph B. Fay Company is the prime contractor.

The $13.73 million improvement project on connecting Routes 8 and 30 between Brinton Road in Wilkinsburg Borough and Yost Boulevard in Forest Hills Borough includes the replacement of three culverts requiring traffic crossovers, paving operations, ADA curb ramp installation, drainage improvements, signing and pavement marking installation, and other miscellaneous construction. The overall project is expected to conclude in summer of 2023.
