Karachi (Dawn.com): Police blocked an attack on an oil storage facility in Kaemari Sea Port Oil Terminal where three men attired in women’s burqas (veils) tried to enter the facility which was used by the different oil companies. They killed the security guard when he tried to stop them. This resulted in retaliation between the security guards and the police. The armed men fled. They had left behind 10 hand grenades, three AK-47 rifles and three burqas.
According to the investigation taking place no small group can undertake an operation to attack an oil facility. The identity of the attackers remains known

ISLAMABAD (Dawn.com): According to President Asif Ali Zardari, the safe exit of former president Pervaiz Musharraf was the outcome of the deal arranged by international powers with interest in South Asia. He said that the international players were guarantor.
During the conversation with the journalists president said that according to the guarantor’s decision Pervaiz Musharraf would play golf in his post presidential life. He indicated that Gen. Musharraf would live a peaceful and secure life because of the interventions by governments of US and Saudi Arabia.

Mingora/ Batkhela (Dawn.com): Confirmed reports from official quarters state that over 140 militants have surrendered in different areas of Swat. Several militants were either killed or injured in operations launched by the security forces in the valley.

The KSE-100 index managed to finish above the barrier of 9000 points but below its intra-day high of 9,147.45. It ended up with gain of 16.49 points at 9,075.26. Where the KSE 30 share index fell by 22.89 ending up at 9,676.15
Women crushed to death during stamped for free food - poverty responsible for their deaths
KARACHI (Dawn.com): 20 women and girls died and 15 people where injured due to stampede during the activity carried out for charity in Karachi’s area of Khori Garden. Where the wholesaler was distributing the food items for free. According to an injured women the panic started when a group of women tried to elbow others out of their way which resulted a baton-charge by the trader’s employee which lead to number of women on the ground.
The Sindh Government has appointed district and session judge, Fahim Ahmed Siddiqui as inquiry officer to conduct investigation.
