Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists that State Route 2013 in Buffington and East Wheatfield Townships, Indiana County is closed in both directions due to flooding.

The closure is between the intersections of Mack Drive in Buffington Township and Plowman Road in East Wheatfield Township.  It is estimated to remain closed until 10:00 am tomorrow, but is subject to change based on conditions.

PennDOT cautions motorists to never drive through flooded roadways, as it takes just two feet of fast-moving water to float a car.

Anyone who drives around barriers intended to close a road can face increased penalties if emergency responders are called to rescue motorists who disregard traffic control signs.
