Prime Minister extends sincere greetings to Poland on its Independence Day

LITHUANIA, November 11 - On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė extends sincere greetings to Poland on the occasion of its Independence Day and wishes Poland every success, harmony, and prosperity.

‘2021 is a special year in the history of our countries. Lithuania and Poland are jointly celebrating the 230th anniversary of the Constitution of 3 May 1791 and the Mutual Pledge of the Two Nations. I am especially glad that we have marked these occasions together. Lithuania greatly appreciates the close centuries-old partnership and cooperation between our countries. We welcome the intensive political, economic, and cultural cooperation between our governments and stand ready to develop it further. The effectively implemented strategic electricity, gas, and transport projects further unite our nations and the entire region. Lithuania and Poland see as their common objective increasing the security and interconnections in the region, creating a united European Union, and investing in the strengthening of the transatlantic ties. I am confident that relying on each other’s support and understanding, and continuing a close dialogue on all issues of concern, we will be able to realise the vision of a secure, prosperous, and forward-looking community,’ reads the Prime Minister’s letter.
