AN ACT

Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

Statutes, in registration of vehicles, further providing for

vehicles of nonresidents exempt from registration.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1. Section 1303 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania

Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:

§ 1303. Vehicles of nonresidents exempt from registration.

(c.1) Optional registration.--A nonresident owner of a

vehicle who operates the vehicle in this Commonwealth and owns

or leases real property in this Commonwealth may register the

vehicle according to the laws of this Commonwealth. A

nonresident owner of a vehicle who registers the vehicle under

this subsection shall be considered a resident of this

Commonwealth for the purposes of this chapter.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
