Next Montgomery County Council Thrive Montgomery 2050 Listening Session Rescheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m.
MARYLAND, August 12 - For Immediate Release: Wednesday, December 8, 2021
Rockville, Md.—The Montgomery County Council has rescheduled its Thrive Montgomery 2050 Listening Session for Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m., instead of Dec. 15 at 7 p.m., to prevent a scheduling conflict with the Montgomery County State Delegation’s local bill hearings on the evening of Dec. 15.
Residents who have already preregistered to provide testimony during the listening session are being contacted by Council staff with this updated information.
Thrive Montgomery 2050 is a framework to guide land use planning for housing, economic development, equity, transportation, environmental sustainability and more for the next three decades in Montgomery County.
The Council’s Planning, Housing and Economic Development (PHED) Committee recently completed their review of the Thrive Montgomery 2050 Draft Plan. The Council held a briefing on the changes made by the PHED Committee on Nov. 16 and a community listening session on the updated draft on Nov. 30.
The Council encourages both those who have not heard of the plan before and those who have been following the plan closely to review the draft plan and provide feedback.
Residents who want to provide testimony on the Thrive Montgomery 2050 but who are unable to speak live on Dec. 14 may still submit testimony in one of the following ways:
1. Upload written, audio or video testimony online at: https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/COUNCIL/PHSignUp.html . 2. Mail your testimony using the following address: Montgomery County Council President, 100 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, MD 20850.
Members of the public also are welcome to submit written comments about the draft plan at https://mcgmd.wufoo.com/forms/comment-on-thrive-montgomery.
All testimony and comments received will be given equal consideration by the Council.
Residents can also watch the listening session on County Cable Montgomery (Channel 996 on Xfinity, Channel 30 on Fios and Channel 1056 on RCN) or on the Council’s Facebook (MontgomeryCountyMDCouncil) or YouTube (MoCoCouncilMD) pages.
