DIRECTOR OF PRO BONO SERVICES
Kansas Legal Services seeks a Kansas-licensed attorney to oversee our statewide Pro Bono Program and the development and implementation of an annual plan for pro bono services. (Current plan is available at https://www.kansaslegalservices.org/node/375/pro-bono-resources).
Applicants who have experience working with professional volunteers and with Kansas attorneys are encouraged to apply.
A portion of this job involves compliance with Legal Services Corporation regulations on Private Attorney involvement and the LSC Performance Criteria, particularly Performance Area Three, Criterion 2: Private attorney involvement. The program effectively integrates private attorneys in its work in order to supplement the amount and effectiveness of its representation and other services to achieve its goals and objectives. In addition, completing public events with private bar associations to provide "ready to work" legal services (driver's license restoration and expungement) are a part of the job duties.
The qualified candidate must have the following:
- a Kansas law license;
- excellent written and oral communication skills; and
- a desire and commitment to assist in the delivery of high-quality legal assistance to low-income people through volunteer attorneys.
- A valid driver's license will be required.
